It may just be propaganda with a purpose, but I am disappointed we are still reading about military plans or strategies in the press or on the evening news...coming from the Sec Of Defense just makes it all the worse.
People have short memories...remember CNN during the Gulf War??? Anything that threatens our troops or our allies should not be tolerated.

Let's be sure and get our reporters and the TV cameras in position and working so the Iranians (I think they are the enemy..at least last I heard) so they can just tune in CNN and Fox and know every thought, every strategy and plan Israel and their friends (that's us...the last I heard) are into. Yessireee.

what ever happened to keeping secret covert operations secret? Nowadays we not only tell our enemies when we are going to attack them by surprise, but also where we hid the bomb that we will blow them up with..........Then to add more ammunitions to the fire IRAN leaders announce they will give aid to anyone who will play on their side. Can you say Red Rover, Red Rover, send Turkey right over. Any country who gets wrapped up into the snare of Iran's religious agenda(destroy Israel)will also become doomed for destruction.

U.S. anticipates Israeli attack on Iran this spring, maybe? There are Israeli agents in Iran operating behind the scenes and most recently taking out a nuclear scientist with a car bomb attached to the vehicle from a motorcycle. Israel can do what the US cannot or is unwilling to do.

Switch to Natural Gas. Kick the habit. Let the region eat their own oil and sand. While they are doing that we can see how long India can live on the Iranian oil, and hopefully we will be able to understand "David" when we call customer service.

This is very interesting. Interesting that Israel would do this to the world.....but if it's forced to, by Iran, then that's that, you know what I mean?
Israelis already pay high prices for gasoline, so it won't affect them as much as it'll affect us, unless Iran lobs a nuke at them, an eventuality the Israelis are prepared for, I'm sure. They have much less territory to defend than their neighbors do.
$7/gallon gasoline will result in increased profits for oil refiners & producers, but decreased demand will cut into their profits & they will rapidly mobilize to increase production. Eventually, the price will stabilize, but shall it be a question of weeks or months?
The whole thing is very interesting to ponder. Almost makes one wish it happened in real life, just to see what would happen. The dark side of human curiosity, I guess. Problem is, a lot of people will lose their lives if this transpires. I really hope it doesn't.

Never under estimate your foe; should Israel attack Iran or vice-verse, an Israeli victory can never be assured. There is the likely hood that it may spill over from these two and become a regional conflict. Many people are only kidding themselves that it may be beneficial and that victory will be at hand and glorious. As a retired soldier this is not a John Wayne movie or a Xbox/ps3 game.
For all we know Iran may already have nukes, then what, will either side utilize them. Then we risk greater conflict and not just regionally, but globally with different ideologies; not just east/west, but Muslim vs the world.
The west cannot not afford such a conflict both in manpower and financially. It may in fact be civilization destroying.
We, at present are hobbled by debt and previous wars that have sapped the strength of many.
Basically be careful for what you wish for; you can't keep fighting endless wars, one after another and expect to be victorious.

I think this whole thing was calculated by Panetta to send a strong warning to Iran to back off. The ball is now in Iran's court. although with their past history, I don't think they have the brains to know when to quit.

I suggested this sort of thing back in October. The thing is..... we as a close friend to Israel can not leave them high and dry. Any play they make we have to watch their back. I say "We" because the Oboma crowd would let Israel take all the flack. We Americans can't do that. So when the fire works start what side are you on. It is going to be a dark time for the world. But The "We's of us" have to take care of each other and live threw it. Things will get better but they will get much worse before they get better............ Ummmmmm who of us has a fall out shelter? I will bring the chips and dip.

We don't have a lot of control of what happens over there. The part we can control to minimize the risk & impact is to reduce oil use & develop our energy infrastructure to use all available energy sources.
